The ViViD engine supports a number of software modules that can be loaded into the processor for processing including:
- H264 AVC Baseline/High Level Video Decoder – This video decoder implements that standard know alternatively as ITU-T H264, ISO/IEC MPEG 4 Level 10 or AVC. There are two distinct software modules, one implementing the baseline profile (for mobile devices) and one implementing the high (and main) profile for higher end digital displays.
- MPEG4 ASP Video Decoder – This video decoder implements the ISO/IEC MPEG4 advanced simple profile (ASP) visual standard.
- MPEG2 HL@MP Video Decoder – This video decoder implements the MPEG2 video standard or ISO/IEC 13818 part 2.
- Windows Media 9 Video Decoder – This video decoder module implements the proprietary Microsoft video decompression algorithms used in Windows Media 9.
MP3 Audio Decoder – This audio decoder implements the MPEG2 Level 1/2/3 (with extensions) and includes the MP3 format.
- Dolby Digital 5.1 and Prologic Audio Decoder – This audio decoder implements the proprietary audio compression formats from Dolby Labs.
- AAC Audio Decoder – This audio decoder implements the MPEG2-AAC advanced audio codec (AAC) standard and different extensions including MPEG4 part 3, HE-AAC, and AACPlus.
- Windows Media 9 Audio Decoder – The audio decoder implements the proprietary audio compression formats from Microsoft Media 9.
- DRM Support – Vivace’s chips will support multiple DRM schemes including those outlined in the SVP standard, Microsoft DRM10, Real Networks "Helix"
